Ordered in June of 2020, the rhizomes arrived in October. Tucson, AZ was so hot I delayed shipment as long as I could. It was still too hot to plant when they got here so I was worried that they would not make it when I finally put them in the ground weeks after arrival. Everyone lived! The plant is robust. This beauty was the first to bloom, now in April 2021. It has an enchanting, classic Iris fragrance that transported me immediately back to memories of my mother's Iris garden in the 1960's. The sweeping "horns" that designate this Iris as a "Space Age" variety, are large. They lift up dramatically to offer the pollinator a handy place to alight, and easy access to the nectar, conveniently through the forest of pollen laden stamens. The color is delicate, like the pink Angel Skin coral jewelry I used to see in high end jewelry stores. Looks like I'm going to get at least 2 more blossoms on this initial stalk. Coral Point is so totally beautiful in every way.
