When I purchased Wine Time, I saw that it bloomed in January. I forgot and to my surprise, in January the stalk appeared in time for Chinese new year. It put on two beautiful blooms (one blew apart in a cold front) before I brought it indoors due to freezes. Two more bloomed after. Each bloom was roughly 6" tall and about 7" wide. Deep rich Burgundy purple that looks like velvet with dark blue tongues. Height reached 33+ inches to top of tallest bloom. Two blooms were on side branches. I grow irises in 3.5 gal. buckets so a ground planted flower may be taller. It has a fragrance that is intense. WT is by far my strongest growing iris. It is worth purchasing.
